Course Overview

This course is divided into four modules:

MODULE 1: People 50+: One Size Doesn't Fit All

This module will increase your understanding of the diversity of today’s 50+ population and the many ways people view the next chapter in their lives.

MODULE 2: Getting Out of the Box

Module 2 will help you will learn how to create a range of opportunities that offer a variety of roles and time commitments, new ways to deliver service, different kinds of incentives, and strategies for enriching the service experience.

MODULE 3: Getting Them in the Door

Module 3 is about creating compelling marketing messages that are targeted to the interests and passions of people 50+ AND developing recruitment strategies to attract more people age 50+ to your organization.

MODULE 4: Unleashing the Talents of People 50+

This final module will help you better understand how to support and retain an age-diverse workforce and develop new approaches to placing, training and managing that workforce.

Registration is not required for Module 1, however it is necessary to register in order to have access to Modules 2-4 and the interactive tools. 

The course is filled with tools, tips, and examples of promising practices.  Each of the tools can be saved in MY TOOLKIT and/or printed out.
Be sure to turn on your speakers so you can hear the video clips! There is a lot of rich information, so don't try to complete all the modules in one sitting. Focus on one or two modules at a time. There are resource links if you are interested in learning more about a specific topic. You’ll also have an opportunity to share YOUR comments and experiences with others. By doing that, you will help create a LEARNING COMMUNITY where content continually grows and learners become teachers. ENJOY!!
